Creating Vision - Avoid Unnecessary Pain

Creating Vision - Avoid Unnecessary PainA persistent question in my coaching work is, "What is the best way to create vision in my church?" Most leaders understand that without a vision a church, and particular leaders of the church, will fail to maximize their potential. Most leaders accept that…See More

"Thanks Rob. Good stuff. Coaching is really important and starting slowly to become accepted by pastors and members. TO the credit of the NNSW leadership, this is being strongly promoted.  "

Hi Rob and thanks for trying to put me in the deep end. I don't mind swimming as long as there are no sharks in there. I read your post and you have a lot of good insights in there. I said I was a NCD Facilitator, maybe I should have said trainee NCD Facilitator.

In most surveys that I have read from the 1990's, the SDA church has always faired poorly in relationships. You have said that the results have improved. Maybe the questions have changed or the people are now used to surveys and want a better score for their church. Statistics are only a guide to help people or organisations improve if they are genuine about it.

The story of the rich young ruler highlights the dilemma for the human being. Eternal life or life itself is a focal point. Most people do not want to die. Therefore one of the focal points has been 'truth'. You know what people say when you are talking about 'love'. Many people don't want fluffy stuff, they want doctrine. That raises a flag!

The disciples said to Jesus 'How can anyone be saved?' Jesus said that 'With God all things are possible.' I suggest that people not worry about the doctrines till they have a loving relationship with God/Jesus first. That's where my focus is. Everything else is a natural by-product of that life giving relationship.

Rob,
have not been able to access the link on alcohol resources. The message is that the page has been suspended. Good link to material on suffering!

Hi Rob,
have been reflecting on usung failing as a learning tool. I had a student withdraw recently and it was a very positive experience in her growth. Wondering if you know of any resources in the area of "positive failing" that might give me words and concepts as I work on writing this up.

Recently I attended a family reunion back in my home town of Adelaide. The program was simple; we ate, talked, walked and reminisced. What was special about it was the reconnection with family members as well as all the associated memories. We all left expressing what a special time it had…

Inspiration Flows At Grow Conference

Last weekend at the Elders & Personal Ministries Grow Conference inspiration was flowing. It came as eighty three elders and pastors gathered to learn from each other. Five inspiring local church case studies were shared that set up a weekend of inspiration. From these stories participants, in group discussion, identified common principles for church growth. Adding…
